hilarity ensued

too much fun not to do again
You’re Asian… Unless you’re in a movie, you likely don’t have a problem with cops. Since I look like a villain, I always chose the distance myself from cops option :D Chris

CanvasFun

Lessons learned:

  • It is important to be very specific when coding, as exemplified by the exercise on the first day. That is, when commanding the 2nd button to change the color (set Canvas1.PaintColor) that will be drawn on the canvas, you have to be sure that the 1st button commands the color to be reset to the color originally associated with the first circle.
  • Along those lines, pay attention to the details! The circles initially did not show up because there was not enough space on the canvas. I trusted that AppInventor was going to work exactly as it appeared, but that was not the case.
  • I wish that there were a way to test the app without the phone. If nothing else, it would make testing faster since waiting for the barcode to package takes a little while.

Overall, though, I continue to be excited and AppInventor continues to impress me.

Hello Purr

Wow, AppInventor is so cool! I am just amazed as to how easy it makes creating an app.

Hello Purr was fun to create because there was not only a sound functionality, but the vibration functionality, too. In particular, having the power to specify the duration of the vibrating is an aspect of programming that I just had not thought about before.

I’m really excited to progress in creating more complicated apps.
